My first cover: Close to you by The Carpenters

I really enjoy singing so so much, so I thought it will be fun recording it down!

Don't expect a Beyonce voice because I don't have it, I am just a normal person who enjoy singing very very much!

Sorry for the poor sound quality, I recorded it only with a phone in my tiny room in the middle of the night. So the echo is quite bad and I am unable to raise my voice too much.

Hope you like it!

Friday Food Night

Both me and my man are a huge fan of sushi. We have been attacking random Japanese food places. Even if we are overseas, we always ended in a sushi place although we are not in Japan.

I want to share our favourite sushi place so far, which is none other than the Sushi Express, I believe this is nothing new in the market. For those who haven't been there, they only serve sushi, sashimi and side on the conveyor belt, you won't be given a menu, but you can refer to the board outside to see all the items they are serving. There are no bento or udon, so you grab the plates on the belt and you pay based on the num. of plates you ate. For the hungry men, you grab more plates and you pay more. And for ladies who don't eat that much like me, a few plates will be enough. Each plate is priced at an affordable $1.50.

We like it because the price is very affordable, and its one of the cheapest place to enjoy our favourite salmon. Our bill for 2 usually totaled up to $30-$50 depending how hungry we are.

We also enjoyed Ichiban Sushi and Sushi Tei, but there are days when we just feel like having sushi and not wanting to spend too much on meals, we will usually go to Sushi Express.

Having said the price is reasonable, so expect a queue during peak hours. The queue can get pretty long something -.- I don't recommend this place when you have a group more than 3, most of their seats are bar top, so its hard to get table if you have a group.

They have a range of sashimi, nigiri, gunkan, maki, sides and desserts, their food are generally fresh. They don't serve fried item, which is rather smart because fried item gets soggy overtime, not nice to leave on the conveyor belt for too long. Their menu here.

We went to their new outlet at IMM last Friday. We reached there at 6 plus, before the dinner crowd. We waited for like 5 min and we got in.

I always start with a miso soup. Quite a big bowl so 2 person can share. There is salmon inside, and I like it a lot (I am a fan of FISH).

I had my favourite plates of cos:
SALMON SASHIMI!
There was once we went to the 313 outlet and only discovered there was no more salmon sashimi when we got it. Sadly la, we came out really disappointment because whats the point of going there when there is no salmon?! So check out the belt first, aim the plates you want before going in.

GRILLED SALMON BELLY
The salmon is touched before serving, warm dish. May not have it all the time

SCALLOP SUSHI
Fresh and sweet tasting scallop sashimi sushi... weeeeeeeeee
2 sushi per plates, very worth it even if you are just going for the scallop ditching the rice

These 3 dishes are my all time favourite.

Sushi Express also has takeout stores where you can get the sushi at the same price. The takeout stores have bento and sushi platter going at real affordable prices too. You can check out their locations here.
-----------------------------------------

We decided to have some dessert after our dinner, and so happened we found a new dessert place: 魏姐包心粉圓. Apparently its quite popular in Taiwan, and I think this is their first outlet in Singapore.
粉圓 is like little dumping, rice ball. I believe most will be familiar with the Lai Ah Po Yu Yuan (赖阿婆芋圆) at Jiu Fen (九份老街)魏姐包心粉圓 is similar, but instead of taro, its red bean.

I ordered the snow ice pudding dessert and the man had the bean curd one.
The rice balls were warm and placed separately, we were asked to put in the balls as we eat.

May not look very appetizing on the photos, but the rice balls are really nice and QQ, maybe is because I like red bean alot. The balls are not too sweet, so the men can accept it too. (But the snow ice is quite sweet.) We ordered the cold desserts, so the warm rice balls blended well. Quite a big bowl so ladies can share too!

The shop is located at #01-48.

Yup that's all about our normal food night. Till then!

Loves xoxo

My First Experience with Annie's Way Rose Essence Jelly Mask

If you have been following my post, you will know that I am a Huge Fan of Annie's way Jelly mask, a popular Taiwanese beauty brand. I am so in love in their Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Jelly Mask, you can quick link to my review here

Last 2 weeks, I don't know if it's the bad weather, PMS or bad cough I had few weeks ago, my skin is terribly dry and sensitive. There is sudden allergy looking rashes around my forehead and cheeks, flaking around the sides of my nose and the entire face is so rough and dry like a sand paper! I tried concealed as much as I can when I need to go out, but I knew it won't cure the cause. Damn depressing, and I seriously need some help.

I was initially using the Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Jelly Mask to help cool my skin, but because this mask is supposedly meant for whitening and brightening, I do not see much improvement. So, I decided to try out the Rose Essence Jelly Mask instead, which is to hydrate and smoothen the skin. And as written on the packaging
"Red rose nourishes and hydrates. Black rose rejuvenates and repairs. White rose whitens and illuminates."
The Rose Essence mask has a faint smell of bandung.

And this is me 2 weeks ago, not too obvious on the photos, but you can see some rough patches on my skin and some acne scars.
I have been using the Rose Essence mask for about 2 weeks now, I see myself as a serious case, so I used it every alternate day. Very hardworking I know.... I am not going to blog about the "how to use", you can refer to the steps in my earlier review on the Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Jelly Mask here.

So, lets see the result!
Above photos have no filter.

Ok! That's me now. I think it's quite obvious that my skin has gone a lot smoother, and my allergy has recovered greatly too. Actually I already felt my skin lots smoother and soften after my First application. Some of the acne scars are still around, but lighten. The flaking near my nose has also recovered. I can finally see some glow on my face! My complexion also gets fairer but of cos the result is not as great as the Arbutin one.

Annie's way jelly masks do not contain paraben, alcohol, antibiotic, fixature and steroids, so very safe to use even for people with very sensitive skin.

My skin has recovered a lot since 2 weeks back, so now I am tweeting between the 2 masks (Rose and Arbutin) and went back to my twice a week routine usage.

This mask really is an awesome choice, however I find it pretty expensive at $45.90 per tab. But I bought it at a great deal during the GSS. the Rose Essence Jelly Mask is going at 1-FOR-1 at SaSa! Its super worth it now, I am considering stocking up! I heard only this rose and the honey mask have the 1-for-1 sales, the rest of the favours have a 20% off. So go grab now before the sales is off!!

Thank you! And hope you find this review helpful!
Till next time!

Wiser me

I had just enjoyed a 3 days straight simple but filled with warming hearts and laughter birthday celebrations.
All and all will not be possible without the important people in my life, my family, my friends and the man.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes, I may not be able to reply all messages, but I have heard all the wishes with my heart. THANK YOU!

With the really really old friends....

With my little family....
Who always put me as the priority...

The Man of my life! oh so cheeky.......

People who you can just talk about anything in the world...

No matter how the celebration is like, I always think that the most important is the people who spent it with you.

I totally agreed that birthday SMS, Facebook messages etc drop as we aged, the number of people during the celebration also drop. But that's not because we have lesser friends or nobody love or care about your birthday anymore. Its more of people get pre-occupied with other things in life, like we got more responsibilities as we grow up: work... family.... kids etc. Don't be too upset when a good friend of yours missed your birthday, its really okay, just make sure he/she make it up later. I bet your friend will be more upset and guilty than you anyway...

Level up! I am one more step to becoming an old woman!

Weekend dinner at Supply & Demand

Went to try out Supply & Demand - Italian Asian Bistro at Orchard Gateway yesterday. Not really a new place, but always wanted to try, so went there for a casual dinner date before our movie.

Reached there about 8pm,so managed to get a table within 10min. We decided not to have pizza as we just had one, son we settled on the chicken and a pasta for sharing. Greedy us added a chunky fries just in case.

The chicken is prepared based on the chef's mood, so meaning it can be in any favour up to the chef to decide. We ended up having a half roast chicken. I really can't tell how the chicken is prepared but to me its just roast chicken la. The chicken is quite tasty and tender, but a bit common.

Then its the pasta, we got a tomato paste one with bacon and minced pork, which is quite a disappointment. The pasta is not cooked, quite hard. And the pork is not fully marinated, as I can still taste the porky taste, which I don't really like it.

Fries is good, freshly prepared. But we are too full so  we packed more than half the portion back.

Not a really satisfying dinner, maybe I can try their pizza next time if there is a next time.

End off with a Face and Outfit of the day!

My new hair colour

Nowadays when I want to DIY my hair colour, I usually choose the Liese Creamy Bubble Colour.

I feel that it does not dry up my hair after application, because some hair dye really damages the hair so much that it looks like grass after that. Then the foam is really creamy, its similar to shampooing. But it can get messy when the foam starts dripping around, so put some newspaper on the floor and wear those old t-shirt during applications. I always dye my hair in my bathroom, so that I can easily wash away any strain after that.

Chose a new colour; Jewel Pink. I am usually not a red head person, but it is always good to try something new.

My originial hair colour, taken in Bangkok last week.

Ta da! The result:
ok, My hair is slightly red now, although not obvious in the picture, and my new grown roots are covered up too. Actually I kinda like it because my previous hair colour has turns yellow and golden, making my face looking a little yellowish and sick. So this has brighten my complexion a little. So alright, mission accomplished.

On a last note, I really do recommend Liese Creamy Bubble Colour to people who want to dye the hair themselves, alone. This bubble colour is really less troublesome and easy to use.

Product available in all major drugstores!

Till then!

Sorry for disappearing... A Quick Update!

Hi Hi Hi!

I am back! Was petty packed these 2 weeks.

A Quick Update
I was at Bangkok for holiday last week, it was an impromptu trip because the man is going for a business trip and me having so much free time now, so I decided to tag along.

I came back last Saturday, then this week was busy preparing for 2 job interviews and updating my online shop for the GSS sales. If you haven know, I am the co-found of an online Pet store; Pawear, please feel free to drop by for our 10% storewide sales!!

Then the worst came when I have so many things on hand and my laptop just died on me yesterday, a sudden death. I couldn't switch it on suddenly, the fan appeared to be running but there is nothing on the screen. I was so pissed because I haven back up the data in my laptop, and there was nothing I can do with a blank screen laptop. Quickly went to the PC store for help and was told the motherboard was down. Lucky the hard disk is still live, so the data can still be backup. I don't see the point to repair my laptop because its already like 4 years old and there are already problems before this sudden death. So I grabbed a new laptop that day. But so sad to pay $40 for data backup when that is something so easy to do it myself.

Ok back to my Bangkok trip. Actually I just been to Bangkok in April, so I thought there will not be much shopping this trip since I have already bought a lot previously, but who knows!

Stayed in the Galleria 10 Hotel this time, my first time staying near Terminal 21. I totally don't recommend this hotel because just to walk to the BTS or Terminal 21 took me 10-15 min, and there is no good shops along the way. And for ladies do take note, the way back is very dark after sunset. I wouldn't dare to go back myself without the man. Although the hotel is petty new, I still feel its too inconvenience, there are better choices with the same price out there.

So since this is a tagged along trip, I took a different flight with the man. My first experience with Thai Airway, and I will say its petty good especially the screen; touchscreen and bigger than SQ.

The man has business to do the next 3 days so I am petty much alone in the days. So I get to decide where I want to go until he is back around 7pm.

I checked out a few new places this time like the Union mall, the new Rod Fai night market and combed the entire Siam including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Square and the shops along the street. And for sure, how can I miss out my all time favourite Pratunam market and Platinum mall. These petty much sum up my alone time there, ya all about shopping.

I will say I quite like the Union mall, the prices are about the same as Platinum mall, but the clothings are more unique. I went there the first time and I came back quite broke. I tot this is not a shopping so I brought along quite little thai baht, damn.....

First day damage:

Direction to Union Mall:
Take Bangkok Metro (MRT) to Phahon Yothin station
Exit via Soi Lat Phrao 1, Exit 5 to Union Mall
A big yellow mall, you won't miss it.

I would also like to recommend the Rod Fai II night market. I believe alot of you have visited the original Rod Fai market near Seacon Square Shopping mall, that huge open bazaar selling most of the vintage collections. However it is quite inconvenience to go, I am so glad they opened the second one near the Thailand Cultural Centre MRT station. The second Rod Fai is smaller and not many of the pretty vintage vehicles to take pictures, but the bars and live bands are still around. The shops are interesting and the prices are quite cheap too. Too bad we went at our last night when we are petty much broke. Sorry no picture too because hands too busy eating the street food. Oh ya! There are a lot of food stores, if you don't mind the hot weather.

Direction to Rod Fai II night market
Take Bangkok Metro (MRT) to Thailand Cultural Centre station
Take Exit 3 and turn left.
Keep walking until you see the Esplanade Mall. Turn left into the soi before Esplanade Mall, walk straight and you will see the sign board.
5 min walk

Ok!
Let me end off with our pretty photo. Till then!
